Wear your sailor's hat, Greek costume or come as you are and join the fun. We have two videos; one of our Zorba routine for the seasoned dancers and one to teach the basic steps that make up the routine.

Panegyri Kick-Off Event, Zorba on the Square
Calling All Greeks! Greek for a day or Greek for life.
Join us at Fountain Square as we kick off our 50th Panegyri with ZORBA on the SQUARE. We'll start off with a few of our talented and experienced dancers on stage with George Karras and his Bouzouki. Clap along as our dancers impress with their quick steps and high jumps. A special address from the city mayor officially honors this milestone and then, it’s YOUR turn!
Learn the iconic Zorba dance from our tutorial video, then join us to ZORBA on the SQUARE! The Syrtaki, aka the Zorba, has come to symbolize our joy for life and community spirit. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a first-timer, this is your chance to be part of a memorable and fun-filled experience! Oloi Mazi! All Together!

Zorba, also known as Syrtaki was choreographed for the 1964 film Zorba the Greek. It is a recent Greek folk dance that starts slow and finishes with a fast hasapiko dance.
Join us for more modern and traditional folk dancing June 27-29.
